Ferris, Baker Watts sole-managed the issuance of qualified 501(c)(3) tax exempt bonds for the acquisition and renovation of new facilities for the St. Coletta School located in Alexandria, Virginia. The school serves a student population aged 5 to 22 who have mental and physical handicaps that include moderate to profound mental retardation, autism and secondary disabilities. Through contractual arrangement with school jurisdictions in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia, St. Coletta provides educational, social and vocational training along with a full range of therapies to students with special needs. The school's goal is to assist students in becoming as independent and self-sufficient as possible.
